Pregnancy and childbirth are very special times in life of parents. The Turlock Journal is looking for local expectant or new parents who would like to share their stories with our readers. The Journal will be publishing a special section on Jan. 29 titled “It’s a New World Baby!” that will include personal experiences, along with stories about medical advances, technology, education and sports.

A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
