Beverly Ruth Johnson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away surrounded by family at the age of 87 on December 18, 2018.  After many years of care at home, she moved to Brandel Manor where she was visited daily by her devoted husband. The family is so grateful for the care and compassion she received during her illness.  She is now at peace in the presence of her dear Savior.

A long-time resident of Denair, Beverly was born in Beverly HIlls, California and lived in Shasta before settling to Turlock at the age of 14.  After graduation from Turlock High School in 1949, Beverly married the love of her life Elwood Johnson at Beulah Covenant Church. Beverly and Elwood were founding members of Monte Vista Chapel, where Beverly first taught Sunday School in her car!

Beverly is survived by her husband Elwood: six children Dennis (Donna) Jonnson of Visalia, Stanley (Julie) Johnson of Flagstaff, Jennifer Fair of Turlock, Annette (Steve) Mills of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, Cynthia (Jon) Appleby of Turlock, and Lisa (Daryl) Jordan of Denair. She is survived by 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her brother Richard Walker and leaves behind two sisters Patricia Lee and Cecilia Colvin.

Over 50 years ago Beverly and Elwood opened Johnson’s Antiques in Denair.  They enjoyed spending time traveling the Midwest searching for antiques and making life-long friends along the way. Beverly was a member of Soroptimist and very active in the Modesto Antique Club.
