Carole was born Carole Marian Long on July 14, 1918 to Earl and Florence Long in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was an excellent student and graduated from Elmhurst College in Illinois with highest honors prior to her 21st birthday.

While teaching music and speech to 5th graders in Wyoming, Illinois she met and married her husband David in 1941. They remained married for 63 years until David’s passing in 2004.

 Carole and David moved to Turlock in 1945 from Washington State where he worked in the security division of the Manhattan Project during World War II. Carole was a school teacher in Turlock at Hawthorne and Crowell Elementary schools as well as Brown Jr. High for more than 30 years.

She was a member of many clubs and professional associations. Playing bridge was her passion and she remained active in several bridge clubs into her 90s.

Carole passed away on April 28th at the Ha Le Aloha Convalescent Center in Ceres, California. She is survived by two of her sons: David of Phoenix, AZ. And Mickey of Turlock, CA. She was preceded in death by her eldest son James and her younger sister Joyce Synstad, both from Turlock.

She also leaves 4 grandchildren: Corrie, Wendy, Christopher, and Jimmy and three great-grandchildren, Grant, Parker, and Aqua June. In addition, she has many nieces and nephews including Barbara Jean Frederikson who was a constant visitor in Carole’s later years.

Carole will be dearly missed by them all. The family requests that no flowers be sent and you respect their privacy at this time. Thank you.

An Entombment Service will be held on Wednesday, May 4th, 2:00 p.m. at Turlock Memorial Park.
