Born in San Mateo, CA. 5/16/1944; died in Oregon City, OR. 4/10/2017

Dennis attended Modesto City College, and then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Science at Sacramento State University 1972

He worked in several law enforcement departments over a period of almost 35 years. Tracy Police Department; Santa Rosa County Sheriff; Department of Justice, Sacramento; Sacramento City Police, and retired from Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department  in 1995.  His last assignment was as a crime scene investigator.  

After retirement from law enforcement, Dennis went to Bible College and graduated from Capital Bible Institute in 1996.  He became an ordained minister with Assemblies of God on April 18, 2005, which was also his and Sheriane’s 40th wedding anniversary.  He served as Associate Pastor at Southpointe Christian Center, Sacramento, CA; Senior Pastor at First Assembly of God in Orleans, CA and Associate Pastor at New Life Center, Rancho Cordova, CA.  He retired from full time ministry in 2014.

Dennis and Sheriane enjoyed traveling together and with friends.  They bought their first travel trailer in 1979 and never stopped exploring the wonders of God’s creation.  When the kids were growing up their favorite destination was Bodega Bay, CA.  After retirement they visited all 50 states, and visited multiple countries, including Europe on ocean and river cruises.  Their last big trip together was in 2015 when they spent a week in South Hampton, UK and then a week in the beautiful city of Paris.  

They moved out of California on April 1, 2016 to be nearer their daughter Ann-Marie and her family.   

He is survived by his wife Sheriane of 52 years, and their three children; Dianna and Kent Williams, Darin and Jennifer Schmidt and Ann-Marie and Christopher McCracken and 7 grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00pm. New Life Center, 2451 Zinfandel Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA.
