Jean Nelson, 93, of Turlock, passed away at Covenant Care Center on Nov. 5. She was born in Los Angeles to Robert and Margaret McClellan in 1917. A lifelong California resident, Jean worked in sales for 27 years at Leask’s Department Store in Santa Cruz. She has been a resident of Covenant Village in Turlock since 1992.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Fritz Nelson, who died while the couple lived in Santa Cruz in 1986.

She is survived by her two children, Linda Fisher of Grants Pass, Ore. and Thomas E. Mitchell of San Francisco, CA; and brother, Walter McClellan of Bellflower.
