George Rust Linn, 90, a lifelong resident of Turlock passed away on February 5, 2015. He was born October 9, 1924 in Turlock where he was raised and graduated from Turlock High School. George served in the United States Army during World War II. He also studied at Modesto Junior College and Hardin-Simmons University in Texas in pursuance of his career in the medical field. It was while attending school in Pennsylvania that he met Gizella “Zella” Porkolab and they were married in Sharon, Pa. on June 1, 1952. They came back to Turlock where they raised their family and George worked for Memorial South in Ceres and later for physicians in Turlock as a medical lab technician. He and Zella were members of Calvary Baptist Church for 62 years. They were involved in prison ministries through the church, volunteered at Emanuel Medical Center and were part of the Citizens Committee for International Studies at Modesto Junior College.

George is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gizella “Zella” Linn, daughters, Patricia Barrett (Charles) of Kentucky, Georgia Gonzaga (Tav) of Hawaii, grandchildren, Nigel Gonzaga, Colin Gonzaga, Grace Gonzaga, Charles Barrett, Melissa Barrett , and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Emily, James, Blake, Luke and Lane.

He was preceded in death by a son Robin Linn in 1982.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church with committal to follow at Turlock Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Turlock Funeral Home.
