Hester Adams Rego, 88, of Turlock passed away on Dec. 20, 2010.

She was born on March 29, 1922 in Punamon Waialua Oahu, Hawaii. She was a telephone operator at Castle Air Force Base for 25 years. She enjoyed taking rides in the country, loved her Hawaiian roots, and loved to read, crochet and spend time with family and friends. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock.

She is survived by son, Robert Gilbert Rego, Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Boulder, Mont.; daughters, Emily E. Bishop and her husband, Richard, of Turlock and Mary Jackson and her husband, Rick, of Hollister; brothers, James Adams of Waikaloa Hawaii, Hawaii and Michael Adams of Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii; sister, Marie McDonald of Waimea, Hawaii, Hawaii; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gilbert Rego, Sr. in 2004.

A memorial Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons St., Turlock. It will be officiated by Father Mark Wagner.
