Jacqueline “Jackie” Joy Wenstrand, age 71, died December 27, 2014, in Sacramento, California.
Born August 2, 1943, on Fort Francis E. Warren in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jackie lived in the Bay Area, California, and Anchorage, Alaska, before settling in Turlock, California, in 1963. After graduating high school at 16 years of age, she studied secretarial skills at Heald Business College and worked in Oakland as a stenographer in the Kaiser Building. Her professional life continued as a bank teller and small business owner until later retiring as an accountant for Turlock Unified School District food services. Jackie served in Covenant Women and as a member of Beulah and, later, Turlock Covenant Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, scrapbooking, her pets, and service to the community.
Jackie is survived by her son, Michael Wenstrand, and daughter-in-law Helen Kamali, daughter Sarah Wenstrand and son-in-law Troy White, grandchildren Lola Wenstrand, Amber and Porter White, sister Sandie Hartzie and brother-in-law Douglas Law, sister Georgeann Crowe and brother-in-law Barry Crowe, nephews Brandon and Darron Crowe, and former husband Everett Wenstrand. She was preceded in death by her parents, Della and Roland Hartzie, stepfather Robert Boehnlein and son-in-law, Michael C. Moore.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Turlock Covenant Church, 316 South Laurel Street, Turlock, California, 95380. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and reception luncheon immediately following.
