Jacqueline Lee Ferreira, a resident of Turlock, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 26th, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old.

Jacqueline was born in North Hollywood, CA, to Leonard and Verna Cox. Raised in the Denair/Gratton area, she moved with her family to Turlock. Jacqueline attended Hilmar High School, where she was a member of the CSF, GAA, and the head Yell Leader. Jacqueline married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Ferreira, on October 16, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church in Turlock. Together, they settled down in Hilmar and raised their family.

Jacqueline worked as an office manager for Lander Veterinary Clinic until her retirement at the age of 65. A woman of faith, Jacqueline was a member of All Saints University Parish, YLI #223 Hilmar where she held many offices, S.E.S. Choir, Cabrillo Club, and PFSA. She devoted much time over the years to Sacred Heart Parish and Holy Rosary, where she handled the bookkeeping and volunteered as the PE teacher at Sacred Heart School.

Jacqueline was a passionate fan of the SF Giants, watching and attending the baseball games, including the annual trip to Spring Training for 15 years in a row. Jacqueline was an avid bowler, bowling from Jr. High up until her early 70’s, competing in city, state, and national tournaments. She was a longtime member of the Women’s Bowling Association, where she served as an officer for many years. Among her most prized past times, Jacqueline adored attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Selfless and generous in spirit, Jacqueline was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She always was ready to help and lend a hand to her family and friends. She made an impact on all and will be dearly missed.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 65 years, Raymond, son Frank (Emily), daughter Karen, daughter-in-law Cathy, grandchildren: Bryan (Kindrea), Michael (Jacqui), Tiffany, Kurt (Lindsey), Damien and Siena, great-grandchildren: Taylor, Madison, Sofia, Mason, Verna and Mark, sister Joann Cooper, sister-in-law Eleanor Ferreira, and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear son, Mark Ferreira.
