James “Jim” S. Wade, 87, of Turlock passed away on Jan. 27.
He was born on Feb. 18, 1923, in Fairfield, Ill. He was a mechanical engineer for the Army Core of Engineers for 25 years and a member of V.F.W. of Turlock and American Legion of Turlock. He enjoyed woodworking and lapidary.
He is survived by his son, James Vaughn Wade of Stryker, Ohio; brother, Donald L. Wade of Champagne, Ill.; grandchildren, Jason Wade and Chris Wade; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Alice M. Wade, on Nov. 29, 2010.
A funeral service is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 West Main St., Turlock. It will be officiated by Pastor Bob Linscheid. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3 at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.
