Jerry Lee Waller of Denair, CA passed away peacefully at the age of 72 after a short battle with liver cancer. Jerry was born in Turlock, CA and grew up in Hilmar, CA on the Harry Waller & Sons Dairy at Faith Home and Williams Rds. milking 65 cows and farming the land. He attended Fairview Elementary School and graduated from Hilmar High School in 1962. After graduation Jerry worked in the Butcher’s Union at Armors Star Foods for 5 years and as a mechanic in the Teamsters Union @ Tri Valley Growers Plant #6 for 34 years. During Jerry’s younger years he was a Lions Club member for the Hilmar-Irwin Club. Throughout his life he thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, helping cook at Portuguese Festas and the occasional trip to the club (Black Oak Casino). He had a life filled with fond memories and would tell anyone that he had lived a good life.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents Harry and Bertha Waller, half-sister; Theta Ray Davis, brothers; Albert Waller and Darrell Waller. He is survived by his daughter Jerrilynn Pierce (Mike), step daughter Davina Bradley (Mike) and four grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Edward Waller, Robert Waller (Penny), Stella Snyder (Elmer), Nancy Maggard (Wally), Carol James and several nieces, nephews and a wealth of friends.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Aurelia’s Loving Home Care in Modesto for the tender and special care that they gave Jerry in his final days. He too was very thankful.
In lieu of flowers and at Jerry’s request, memorial contributions may be made at any F&M Bank branch on behalf of Jerry to be distributed at a later date to local children’s clubs and organizations that Jerry frequently supported over the years. He was always a generous supporter of children’s organizations.
A Celebration of Life / Luncheon will be held on November 10, 2017 at 12:00PM at the Denair Community Center; 3850 N. Gratton Rd. Denair, CA.
