Lloyd passed away after a short illness.  Born in Trenton Missouri, Lloyd joined the Army and specialized in airplane engine mechanics.  He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory WWII Medal and the American Theatre Ribbon.  After an Honorable Discharge from the Army, Lloyd went on as a civilian at Castle Air Force Base in Merced CA. where he operated the aircraft engine change dept. and later supervised the vehicle maintenance dept. until his retirement in 1978. 

Lloyd married the love of his life Goody Ravnan in Oct. 1954 and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in October. They had one child, Tom Ruhl.  Eventually Lloyd’s family grew with daughter-in-law Laloni and he became a grandfather to Jacob and Joshua Ruhl and great-grandfather to Mylee Ruhl. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and a friend to many.

Lloyd is survived by his wife Goody Ruhl of Turlock CA; son Tom and daughter-in-law Laloni of Groveland CA; grandsons Jacob and Joshua Ruhl and great granddaughter Mylee Ruhl all of Groveland CA. He is preceded in death by brother, Wilburn Ruhl; sisters, Bertha Alspaugh, Cleo Hess, Ruth McCormick, and Joyce Sunderland.

Burial will take place at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 2:30p.m. Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com
