Lloyd Zimmerman,  81, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center.
Lloyd was born in Kansas and spent some time moving around the U.S., from New York to California. In 1943 Lloyd joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country for approximately 13 years, including fighting for his country during WW II.
New York is where he met the woman whom he would share his life with, Rose. They were married nearly 40 years before she passed away in 1992.  Aside from the time he enjoyed spending with his family, Lloyd loved Radio Controlled Airplanes. In the late 60s, early 70s Lloyd owned a small
business in Long Beach called California Models, a business dedicated to his hobby and love of flying. This was a great joy that he incorporated into family time taking the kids along to fly. He actively enjoyed this hobby for more than 45 years. His other great love and companion was his boxer, Rocky. Lloyd was a caring and loving father, he will be greatly missed.
Lloyd is survived by his son, Joseph Zimmerman of Turlock; daughter, Theresa (David) Griffiths of Dove Canyon;  grandchildren, Jeff Griffiths, Ashley Griffiths and Jennifer O’Hare; and brother, Jerry Falk.
Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Mortuary. The graveside service will be held at  noon on Saturday, Feb. 26 at Turlock Memorial Park.
