It is with heavy hearts, but uplifted souls that the family of Lois Ness announce her passing on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the age of 87.

Lois was born on October 2, 1931 in Turlock to Dale and Maude (Varner) Towler.  She also had a wonderful step-father Charles Tharp.  Lois was raised in Turlock, went to Turlock schools and graduated from Turlock High School in June of 1949.  Immediately after graduation she married the love of her life, Fred Ness.  Together they created a loving home and a family.  They raised four daughters Teresa Ness Driskell, Deborah Ness Carter, Rinda Ness Paine, and Stephanie Ness Schell.

Lois spent the first years of her marriage creating a home and raising her children.  When she did pursue a career outside of the home she went to work in the dental field. She spent 29 years in various aspects of dentistry from private practice to the Stanislaus Dental Foundation.

Lois was a wonderful cook, a great hostess, a hard worker and a devoted mother.  She will be well remembered by those who knew her.  

Lois leaves behind her four daughters; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Gladys Segars and Jean Sorensen and by her loving husband Fred.  

Funeral services will be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:00p.m.  with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
