Loretta Zanos, 70, of Delhi, passed away at home on Sunday, April 25. She was born in Turlock to Harry and Lucy Carlson in 1940. Loretta lived her entire life in Turlock. She graduated from Turlock High School in 1958. In the same year, she was named Miss Turlock. Loretta was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Red Hat Society, Denair Lions Club, Denair Firecrackers and many others groups through the years. She enjoyed boating and fishing in the Delta and dirt biking. She will be missed by all.
Loretta is survived by her children, James Zanos of Montana and Cyndi (Chris) Tiernan of Turlock; sisters, Margaret (John) Riberio, Jeanette Owens and Nora (Bob) Cheseldine, all of Turlock; friend, Frank Mello; and grandchildren, Kyle Tiernan and Austin Tiernan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Zanos, one brother and one sister.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 30 at Allen Mortuary, with burial following at Turlock Memorial Park.
