Peggy Green, 73, passed away at home on Nov. 28 with her three daughters by her side. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home, 3050 Winton Way in Atwater.  A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Dec. 10, also at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home, with a burial to follow at Winton District Cemetery.
Peggy was born in Waterford, Va. She later moved with her family to Hamilton, Mont. where she graduated from high school and became a stenographer. Shortly after graduation, she met and married Willy Green and became an Air Force wife. After 20 years, Willy retired from the Air Force in 1972 and the couple settled in Atwater.
Peggy worked at Merced College for 23 years as division secretary for the Humanities Department. She also was involved with various volunteer work.  Peggy loved to travel, play Bunco with her pals, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Shallenberger, Joan Stocker and Kim Ercolini; her brother, Glen Orick; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Willy Green.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Emanuel, 825 Delbon Ave., Turlock, CA 95382.
