Margarida Rosalia Souto, 90, was born in Nossa Senhora do Rosario, Topo, Sao Jorge, Azores and died Oct. 5, 2010 in Turlock.

She immigrated to the U.S. in 1990, settling in Hilmar for three years and then lived in Turlock for the past 17 years. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by son, Jose M. Leonardes (Lucia) of Modesto; daughters, Maria R. Brasil (Antonio) of Turlock and Loudelina M. Oliveira (Manuel) of Sao Jorge, Azores; brother, Joao S. Souto of Sao Jorge, Azores; grandchildren, Tony Duarte Brasil, Alexandrina Oliveira and Anabela Cabral; and great grandchildren, Sabrina Brasil, Mercedes Brasil and Aavan Miguel Cabral.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. A Vigil and Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Rd., Turlock. A Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. It will be officiated by Father Manuel F. Sousa. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park following the funeral Mass.
