Mary Lou Thompson, born in Lincoln Nebraska on November 7, 1933, died on September 8, 2013 in Hughson, California.  She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Emma Stange of Visalia, California, daughters; Tina Thompson of Visalia and Dina Louise Thompson of Atwater. Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Harold H. (Hal) Thompson of Atwater, son; Michael Thompson (Sharon) and daughter Chris Notley of Atwater, grandchildren; Stephanie Thompson, Cody Thompson, Kelly Thompson of Atwater, Hannah Blevins of Corpus Christi, TX, Michael Villegas and Melissa Villegas of Merced, and Nicole Villegas of Boston, Mass., and great grandchildren Emma, Cescily and Reyna. 
Mary Lou attended Union School Elementary, Mt. Whitney High School and College of the Sequoias in Visalia. Mary Lou was a seamstress for Gottschalk’s Department stores for many years and designed and fitted wedding apparel. She had been active in PTA, American Cancer Society, Cub Scouts, an active member of the Fruitland Women’s Club and worked many years providing Recreational and Competitive swimming opportunities for youth in the Livingston area through the Blue Sharks swimming program. 
Mary Lou was an active outdoor person and enjoyed camping with family and friends.  She was long time member of Turlock Golf and Country Club. She belonged to the Ladies Group and enjoyed golf to the fullest.  Tournaments and golf trips with friends were her passion. Mary Lou was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a friend to all who knew her and loved her.  Services will be held at 10:30 am on September 28, 2013 at the Livingston Methodist Church, 11695 Olive Ave. Livingston, CA. 95334 with lunch to follow.  Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to a charity of your choice.  A private internment will be held at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
