Our mother went to meet her Savior the morning of January 30th, 2017 in the comfort of her home at 92 years of age.  Mildred was born at home in Turlock, CA to Esther and Carl Erickson.  She met her husband, Bennett Carlson, through the Swedish Baptist Church in San Jose.  Bennett and Mildred wed in 1943 and are survived by four children, Robert (Lynn) Carlson, Richard (Tamara) Carlson, Jana (Steve) Franci & Cheryl (Gary) Galloway.  They have eleven grandchildren (Christa, Erin, Alex, Mitchell, Ben, Alicia, Stephanie, Karl, Katie, Megan, Ryan) and three great grandchildren (Paige, Morgan, Logan).

Millie was raised in Turlock and had many life long friends.  She had a beautiful voice and sang many solos in the choir that Bennett directed at Calvary Baptist Church.  Millie also helped Bennett in his accounting business as front office during tax season.  When the children were raised, she enjoyed working in the OR at Emanuel Hospital for 15 years. After retiring, she and Bennett enjoyed traveling extensively.  They moved to Santa Rosa in 2001 to be close to family.   While in Santa Rosa they attended Bethel Baptist Church.  They were married for 63 years when Bennett passed away in 2006.

Millie was an amazing mother and grandmother, lively and fun with an excellent wit and sense of humor. Her joke telling was as funny as the punch line.  Mom was a great cook and fantastic baker, known for her oatmeal bread and pies.  She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to join us in a celebration of life to be held at First Presbyterian Church of Santa Rosa on February 25 at 1 pm.
