Norene was born in Buckeye, Iowa to Bernie and Edna Evans.  Her family lived in Washington for a time where Norene went to high school and later nursing school.  She moved to Turlock in 1943 and has remained here since. 
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1957, and was active for 35 years. She served as District President for two terms, the last of which she was 89 years old.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Turlock, for 65 years. She was a member of the All Seasons Trailer Club for 10 years, traveling nationwide.
She was also active in her children’s school activities and was the PTA president for Roselawn School.  
Her passions included gardening in her yard, and caring for her multiple rose bushes. She loved playing board games, “Chicken Foot” being her favorite.  Family, friends and flowers, none of which she could get enough of.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Le Roy Ramos and her daughter, Monica L. Ramos.
She is survived by her children, Barry (Sharon) Ramos, Brian (Sue) Ramos and Randall (Sandra) Ramos.  She also leaves 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing beginning at 10am followed by a funeral service at 11 A.M. on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 1660 Arbor Way in Turlock.  Burial will be private at Turlock Memorial Park.
Remembrances in Norene’s memory can be made to any Veteran’s organization or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
