Roger was born on May 18, 1936, in Turlock, CA to Neil and Maggie Kirkes. He graduated from Turlock High School. Roger has always been extremely proud of his Turlock community and very involved in philanthropic, community and trade organizations. From a young age, he worked with his father in their family business, Kirkes Electric, which was originated by his father in 1949.

Roger was predeceased by his parents Neil and Maggie Kirkes, and a baby daughter, Cynthia. He is survived by his beautiful and beloved wife, Delores. Roger has four sons, Greg Kirkes (Sarah), Brad Kirkes, Darryl Silva (Vickie), Kyle Kirkes (April) and one daughter, Karen Silva. Together, he and Delores have 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Roger is also survived by his brothers Mike and Gary Kirkes.

Roger and his wife, Delores of 37 years, share a love beyond measure. Everyone that knew them had the privilege of witnessing a beautiful love affair. Other loves of Roger’s were Jesus, serving others, his community, his family business, Rotary, golf, friends, and his beautiful family. His friends and family would say that he was a great listener, a patient teacher, a humble businessman, a sincere encourager, extremely generous and an all-around wonderful man that everyone loved. He was always the first to the party and the last to leave. Unfortunately, he left this party on earth long before his friends and family were ready to let go. But they are comforted in the fact that he is now in the presence of Jesus.
