Ron was born in Turlock to Victor and Clara Carlson, and passed away at the age of 85.  He was a graduate of Turlock High School, class of 1950.  Ron was a veteran of the US Air Force, stationed in Japan during the Korean conflict.  He worked in Turlock for 39 years at Thorsen’s and he was the past assistant chief with Turlock Rural Fire Department.  Ron was a member of New Life Christian Center since 1976.  He was also a member of Turlock VFW Post 5059 and American Legion.  

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Marilyn Carlson; children Jonathan (Luisa) Carlson and Annette Carlson; sister Harriet Backman and three grandchildren Chelsy (Travis), Joshua and Emma.  Ron is preceded in death by his son Donald Carlson and his parents.

Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Grace Home, Inc. in Livingston or New Life Christian Center building fund. 

Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 1:00-5:00p.m.  Graveside service will be at Turlock Memorial Park on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 9:00a.m. with a celebration of life service to follow also on Monday at New Life Christian Center at 10:30a.m.
