Three Warriors from the men’s and women’s basketball teams received some of the league’s top honors this week after having successful runs in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Junior center Reggie Jones was named an all-conference first-team member in men’s basketball, while women’s basketball senior center/forward Katie Busi received her third all-CCAA first-team nod and senior teammate and guard Andreanna Marshall picked up a second-team award.

All three helped lead their team to an appearance in the CCAA’s postseason tournaments. Both programs ended their run in the first round.

Jones, a junior from Paterson, N.J., led the Warriors with 15 points per game. He also grabbed 4.8 rebounds and tallied 31 blocks in his first season, as he is among the CCAA leaders in scoring, free throw shooting (121 for 157) and blocked shots.

Busi averaged 15.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 2.4 steals during her 2010-11 campaign. She is the only CCAA player in the top three of each of those four categories. Marshall had the best year of her four-year career with an average of 13.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. She also made 80.3 percent of her free throws and had 42 steals.
