No. 1 ranked UC San Diego made it 23 in a row as the Tritons defeated Cal State Stanislaus, 85-51, Saturday night at the RIMAC Arena.
Despite their eighth straight loss, the Warriors got a career-best performance from junior Devin Brown. Brown scored 17 points, including seven free throws, to lead Cal State Stanislaus. Stanislaus, however, fell to 5-16 overall and 2-15 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
The Godde sisters, Lauren Godde and Erin Godde, notched double-doubles in the same game for the first time with Erin scoring 11 and 12 rebounds. Lauren had 10 points to go with her game-best 15 rebounds. The twins also combined for five steals.
UC San Diego was led by Lauren Fridenberg's 17 points as the Tritons stay undefeated after 23 games. They are also 17-0 in the CCAA.
Brown's previous best was 10 points on Jan. 27 against Humboldt State. Saturday night, the transfer from Foothill College went 5-for-12 from the floor and made 7 of 11 free throws.
As a team, however, the Warriors shot just 22.9 percent for the game but battled against the top ranked team in the country on the glass. UCSD edged the Warriors 49-47. Stanislaus also turned the ball over 26 times.
