Pitman High grad David Gianesin is hoping his talents on the gridiron will shine this weekend as he participates in the USA Football Bowl Festival — a four-day event that includes the USA Professional Leagues Testing Combine and an all-star game featuring senior players from the Division I, I-AA, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels.

Gianesin most recently played at the wide receiver position for Bluefield College,  a NAIA Division II school located in Bluefield, Virginia. In one game for the Rams, he had  six receptions for 126 yards, nearly doubling his 2013 total of 162 yards receiving, and breaking the school record for receiving yards.

Before playing for the Rams, Gianesin spent two years as a Pirate at Modesto Junior College.

The 6-foot-4, 182 pound jumper said he is excited about participating in his first professional combine.

"My strength at receiver is my hands, routes and the ability to use my tall structure and natural leaping ability to jump up and catch the ball over defenders," said Gianesin.

The game is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Monday at Newell Stadium in Jackson, Mississippi.
