Stanislaus volleyball stumbles against ranked opponent

Cal State Stanislaus' momentum from the previous night’s win over Cal State Dominguez Hills seemed to run out Saturday night resulting in a loss to No. 21 Cal State L.A. in three straight sets, 17-25, 21-25, 16-25.
The Warriors now move to 1-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and are 3-3 overall.
Lianne Vicchio once again led the Warriors with eight kills. Eva Chafeh and Jennifer Marsh followed with five kills apiece.  
Warrior setter Nicki Brown contributed all over the court with 22 assists, three kills, one service ace and one block, while also leading the Warriors with eight digs.
The Golden Eagles beat out the Warriors offensively with Zuzana Cizova and Natalia Gonzalez, recording 10 kills each. Amrita Tuladhar led Cal State L.A. with 36 assists.
The Warriors will play next in a nonconference match against William Jessup University today at 7 p.m. at Warrior Arena.
