Delhi tennis tops Denair

Friday marked the third time this season that both Delhi and Denair High met for one final showdown on the tennis courts as the battle for second place in the Southern Athletic League continued heading into the final two matches.

Delhi had already lost to Denair previously and the Denair Coyotes were looking to be one game behind Ripon Christian heading into their Monday showdown — but things didn’t end well for Denair.

Instead, Delhi came out victorious, 6-3.

“Sad to say we lost,” said Denair head coach Bill Weber.

“Only eight games separated the match. Now the best we can do is sole owner of second which is still the best showing for Denair tennis ever,” said Weber.
