Turlock golf maintained its successful ways, as the Bulldogs won the Central California Conference Mid-Season Tournament last Thursday at Rancho del Rey.

Turlock won with a score of 439,  69 strokes better than second-place Merced.

Pitman finished third with a 548, just three strokes ahead of Buhach Colony.

“I am very proud of the whole team,” said Turlock head coach Mary Krupka.

Every single one of Turlock’s golfers scored less than 97, while every other school had multiple 100-plus scores.

Brooke Vierra, Turlock’s number four golfer, had the lowest score of the day with an 82 and took medalist honors by winning the tournament.

“The scores were solid,” said Krupka. “Brooke did so well. The Bulldogs are on fire.”

Sarah Garcia and Bergen Benedict, who struggled in the front nine, bounced back to turn in decent scores.

Garcia finished third on the team and tied for fourth overall with an 88. Benedict finished third overall.

Sophomore Elena Machado finished with a 95, while freshman Preethi Singh topped out at 97.

Pitman’s number one player, Taylor Beckwith, finished second overall with an 84, while everybody else on the team shot 102 or worse.
