On the most rainy day of the year so far, Pitman and Merced varsity girls’ soccer squared off on Tuesday for a Central California Conference showdown.
Unfortunately for the Pride, the Merced Bears managed to score one goal per half and kept Pitman from coming within reach as they won in the end 2-0.
DeAnna Govea and Carris Burgess each scored for Merced to secure their second consecutive victory in league.
Pitman falls to 1-2 in the CCC and have lost back-to-back games, while getting outscored 5-1.
The next game for Pitman will be on the road against Buhach Colony at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
