Marquis Fleming, a former standout and second team All-American pitcher at Cal State Stanislaus, was added to the Florida State League All-Star team on Sunday.
Fleming is one of eight players on the Port Charlotte Stone Crabs team to be named to the All-Star roster. The FSL All-Star game is on June 12 at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Fla.
This season at Port Charlotte, the High-A Minor League team of the Tampa Bay Rays, Fleming posted a 3-0 record with a 1.96 ERA. He had a staggering 49 strikeouts in 30 1/3 innings as of Monday.
His strikeout prowess is the subject of a marketing video titled "Copier Hog" produced by the Stone Crabs aired on local television and available on the team Web site and YouTube.
Fleming, who was the conference and West Region Pitcher of the Year, was a 2008 24th round draft pick of Tampa Bay.
