Where to watch the World Cup Final

The championship rematch is on for Sunday — the United States vs Japan for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. It’s been a long road for our country’s women who barreled through Colombia, edged China and upset the top seeded Germany, all for a chance at redemption against a Japan team that took the Women’s Cup title in 2011.

Unlike most sporting events in the States, there will be no questioning who to root for come Sunday, leaving only one question for soccer fans: where can the game be watched?

For those of you eager to watch the game but don’t want to host or cook food, here’s a quick list of local restaurants you might want to visit for the 4 p.m. championship showdown.

Jura’s Pizza Parlor and Sports Bar

Jura’s is the only place in town with specials dedicated to the Women’s World Cup Final on Sunday. Starting an hour before the game and ending an hour after, Turlock’s favorite pizza joint will be offering $10 large pepperoni pizzas, $3 well drinks, $6 domestic pitchers, $10 imported pitchers and %15 off the rest of the menu. And with 23 screens playing the game, there will be a good view of the pitch regardless of where you’re seated.

Applebee’s

If you want more than pizza, wings and fries buy you still want discounts, Applebee’s is the place to watch the game with an all-day Happy Hour that will cut the price of appetizers in half for bar patrons. There are also plenty of TVs to watch the game and plenty of beers on tap to quench your thirst.

Dust Bowl Tap Room

Though it doesn’t have as many TV’s as some of the town’s other restaurants, Dust Bowl Tap Room does have a wide variety of local, craft beers to choose from. Hit this downtown hotspot and enjoy a dollar off all house brews as well as other specials that will be announced the day of.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Finally, the newest kids on the block in terms of Turlock restaurants is sure to be a destination for Sunday with 60 TV’s peppering the dining area. There are no food or drink specials slated for Sunday, but with 30 beers on tap, a slew of signature drinks and 17 different hot wing sauces there’s no doubt there will be a large crowd of USA supporters at Buffalo Wild Wings on Sunday.
