Child injured near junior high

The Turlock Police Department is investigating a collision that sent a child to a hospital.

The police department had few details about the accident as the investigation is in the early stages.

The collision happened around 3 p.m. Friday in the area near Turlock Junior High School.

The child that was hit was standing in the roadway at the time, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and was cooperating with officers.

The child was airlifted to a hospital. Rodrigues said the extent of the child’s injuries are unknown at this point.
