Gunman robs Turlock convenience store

The Turlock Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at a Turlock convenience store.

The robbery was reported around 5 a.m. Monday at the Amar Beer Wine & Gas store at 1570 East Ave.

An employee at the store said an unknown man came into the building and pointed a gun at his face and demanded the money from the cash register.

The robber took an undetermined amount of cash and fled the store. There were no reported injuries.

The suspect was completely covered up with clothing and had a bandana covering his face, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Russ Holeman. The suspect is about five feet, eight inches tall with a thin build.
