Man barges into home; confronted by armed resident

A Turlock elementary school was placed on a brief lockdown Thursday afternoon after a man ran into a home and was confronted by an armed resident who proceeded to chase and detain the suspect in the neighborhood. The incident was reported shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday in the 4200 block of Donovan Way. The suspect, Jose Rodriguez, 25, believed he was being chased by several people, so he ran into the nearest home, where a resident happened to be walking out the front door, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.

Turlock woman convicted of murdering her daughter denied parole

District Attorney Jeff Laugero announced that Brandy Lee Rose Devine, 38, of Turlock was denied parole following a parole hearing held at the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla.
