The Turlock man who was reported missing earlier this week has returned home uninjured, but the details of his three-day disappearance remain unknown.

John Nissan, 52, returned home Thursday after having last been seen on Sunday, the Turlock Police Department reported.

“Due to the sensitive nature of this incident, further details regarding his disappearance will not be released at this time,” said police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

Nissan was last seen Sunday by a family member. Nissan told the relative he was going somewhere and left. He never showed up at work on Monday, which was unusual for him. His employers contacted his family, who then contacted the police.

The disappearance was deemed suspicious by investigators.

Nissan’s photo and information were widely distributed to the media Wednesday, along with the car he was last seen leaving in. Nissan told police the car was stolen.

The car is a gold 2007 Nissan Murano, with the California license plate of 5WZM792.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Detective Brandon Bertram at 664-7323.
