To the Editor:
Turlock needs steady leadership and proven results, not more campaign promises. As a farmer, businessman, and former trustee who served eight years on the Turlock school board and 16 years on the Turlock Irrigation District board, I know the difference. That is why I strongly support Mayor Amy Bublak for reelection.
We do not need politicians who simply want to raise taxes. We need leaders who make sure tax money is spent exactly as voters decide. Mayor Bublak opposed Measure A because she is against higher taxes, but once voters approved it, she helped set up the mechanism to protect those dollars and has made sure they money is spent as promised.
Promises made, promises kept. When the road tax passed, she said she would fix the worst roads first, and she has — especially on the westside, where long-needed repairs have made a real difference. She also convinced her council colleagues to hire a professional roads engineer to decide which roads should be fixed first, replacing the old practice of each council member choosing a road in that member’s own district.
Turlock is stronger today because Mayor Bublak has stayed focused on the basics: accountability, public safety, better roads, and responsible spending. She has earned another term. I urge voters to reelect Amy Bublak and keep Turlock moving forward.
