The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department served multiple search warrants Monday morning in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation.

Two of the search warrants were served at Turlock liquor stores and the third was at a Ceres residence.

Early Monday morning the sheriff’s department served the search warrants at the Pop-N-Cork locations at 1190 East Avenue and 3811 Crowell Road. Around the same time a search warrant was served at a home in Ceres on Southern Oak Drive.

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Keith Rakoncza said the search warrants were in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation, but would not comment further on the case.

The warrants were served Monday by plainclothes law enforcement members.

Last week the sheriff’s department served a search warrant at a residence in the 1100 block of East Avenue and utilized its Special Weapons and Tactics team. Rakoncza stated it was in relation to an ongoing homicide investigation, but declined to elaborate.

Pop-N-Cork is owned by Karan, Inc., which on the liquor license lists Daljit Singh Atwal as the president and Baljit Singh Atwal as the chief financial officer.
