A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon for an armed robbery of a Turlock music store.
The Turlock Police Department received a call at 4 p.m. Wednesday stating there were two armed men robbing the FYE store at 2745 Geer Rd.
A clerk at the store had trouble opening the register, so the two robbers took the personal property of one of the customers instead, said Turlock Police Lt. Steven Williams.
The two suspects fled the store just before the first patrol cars arrived, Williams said.
A witness saw the incident unfolding and followed the two suspects as they ran to an apartment in the nearby Lakeside Apartment complex, Williams said. The witness flagged down an officer and pointed out the apartment where the two had run inside.
The apartment was surrounded and the two suspects were ordered to come outside. They complied with the orders and were taken into custody without incident.
Evidence was recovered that tied the two suspects to the robbery and they were positively identified by the witnesses, Williams said.
Arrested were a 17-year-old male and Robert Sherron, 20, both of Turlock. Both were charged with felony robbery and conspiracy and a misdemeanor charge of brandishing a weapon.
