Shooting injures one in Turlock

A man standing under a carport outside a Turlock residence was shot Thursday night by an unknown assailant.

The victim, a 45-year-old man, sustained one gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Clifford Avenue.

The victim was with a group of people when an unknown man approached and fired one shot at the man and then walked away from the scene, headed in the direction of Main Street, said Lewis.

The suspect was described as an African-American male standing about 6 feet tall and weighing 280 pounds.

A motive for the shooting is unknown at this time. The suspect remains at large.
