The Turlock Police Department is investigating a failed attempt by two men to steal an ATM from a Geer Road business.
Shortly around 6:40 a.m. Saturday the police department responded to the 3100 block of Geer Road for a report of a commercial burglary.
An employee at the business told the investigating officers that one man backed his vehicle into the front doors of the building gaining access to the business. A second man, who had been seen hiding by a planter nearby, wrapped a chain around the ATM.
The first suspect tried to loosen the ATM from the secured mounts by driving the vehicle forward, but the attempt came to no avail and the two suspects quickly abandoned their quest.
The male driver was last seen fleeing east on Monte Vista Avenue in the vehicle. The second suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
