The Turlock Police Department seized two weapons and arrested two teenagers Wednesday night.

An officer made contact with the two teenagers around 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of N. Olive Avenue. One teenager ran from the scene, but was apprehended a short distance away. The second teen, 19-year-old Joseph Lopez stayed at the scene, but began acting suspicious, according to the police report.

The officer spotted the handle of a handgun sticking out of Lopez’s waistband. An additional search of Lopez led to the discovery of a sawed-off shotgun, the police department reported.

Lopez was arrested on felony gun charges. The juvenile, who was not cooperative, according to the police report, was arrested for violating his probation.
