The California Highway patrol is seeking the public’s help in finding the driver who was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that struck and injured a Turlock man Monday morning.

The 22-year-old Turlock resident sustained serious injuries from the hit and run collision, according to the CHP.

The collision happened around 7 a.m. Monday in Delhi.

The victim was walking southbound on the west shoulder of Griffith Road. A Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on Griffith and was near the intersection with W. Bradbury Road, when the driver made a U-turn across both lanes, striking the 22-year-old in the process.

The driver of the Ford drove away from the collision scene, leaving the 22-year-old hurt and alone. He was found by a passing motorist, who took him to Emanuel Medical Center. The CHP was notified of the incident from the hospital.

The victim was not able to get a description of the pickup truck. It’s unknown what — if any — damage the truck sustained.

The driver of the pickup truck is facing a possible charge of felony hit and run.

Anyone with information about the collision, the pickup truck, or the identity of the driver is asked to contact the Merced area CHP at (209) 356-6600.
