The Merced County Sheriff’s Department has arrested three Turlock men in connection with armed robberies at two pharmacies.

Arrested on various charges connected to the robberies were: Richard Allen Adams, 42; Hilberto Adams, 24, and Orlando Brasil, 29.

The robberies occurred at pharmacies in Planada and Delhi, said sheriff spokesman Sgt. Delray Shelton.

According to the sheriff’s department, two masked men would enter the pharmacy and steal undisclosed amounts of pain medications. At least one suspect was armed during the robberies. A third suspect waited outside in a getaway vehicle, Shelton said.

Through the course of the investigation detectives developed information the suspects were connected to two Turlock residences. The arrests were made after putting the suspects under surveillance, Shelton said.

Detectives also served search warrants at a home in the 500 block of Florence Street and at a home in the 1300 block of Berry Drive, both in Turlock. The sheriff’s department did not state what if anything was found during the searches of the two homes.

The investigation remains ongoing, Shelton said.
