Two arrested for running over man in Turlock

Two young men have been arrested in a homicide investigation on allegations they intentionally ran over a man early Sunday in Turlock.

The Turlock Police Department has not released any details regarding the identity of the victim.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday the police department received a call reporting there was a man down in the road in the area of S. First and D streets. The caller stated the man had been run over and was possibly deceased.

Officers quickly responded to the area and found the man alive, though gravely injured. He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to determine the man had intentionally been run over and they identified two suspects.

Jose Alonso Gutierrez, 18, was arrested on suspicion of murder and Bailey Martin Sanchez, 19, was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to murder and carjacking.

The police department did not release any details about how the two suspects were identified and apprehended.

Both suspects were booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.
