A Turlock woman had to be taken to an area hospital after she accidentally ran over herself with a van, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Wednesday afternoon the police department received a call reporting a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in the area of Almond Avenue and Golden State Boulevard.

When the officers arrived, they discovered the accident happened on private property and that the pedestrian and the driver were one in the same.

The woman was driving her roommate’s van in the parking lot at 361 Almond Ave. She stopped the van and got out to close the gate behind her. According to the police report, she thought she had put the van in park, but when she was behind it, the van rolled back, striking her and knocking her to the ground.

One tire rolled over her hip and leg. She was taken to Doctors Medical Center for a complaint of pain.

Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the accident.
