Pitman students offer local Halloween fun
tombstone tours

Those looking for a scary good time before Halloween need not look further than Turlock, thanks to Pitman High School’s Athletic Booster Club, Drama Club, and collaborating art students.

During the inaugural Tombstone Tours Haunted Experience, guests will be guided through an eerie graveyard, wherein they will meet its spooky inhabitants.

“This is a great opportunity for families to stay local and to not have to drive 20 miles away to have some Halloween fun and food,” said event volunteer Marianne Foglia.

Shortly after arriving, guests will be greeted by a creepy caretaker who will escort them through Pitman's B Building and share the stories of those who are buried in the graveyard inside. Throughout the tour, actors from the drama department are completely in character as zombies that will pop out behind every tombstone.

B Building cemetery residents include “Professor Plummet,” whose tragic death resulted in his hunched and deformed posture, and “Julianne L’Poison,” who was horribly murdered by her lover. According to Foglia, this tour will also prove to be a great drama production.

In addition to the haunted hallway and spooky sounds inside, the Booster Club’s snack bar will also be open during the event.

“This is an event for all ages. Guests will be frightened, but not too frightened,” added Foglia. “We have something for everyone.”

The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Those interested can purchase tickets for $5 at the Activities Office or at the event. All funds will go towards benefitting the Athletic Booster Club, drama department, and art department.
