The Advancing Children of Turlock club took 35 local children on a shopping spree at Target on Wednesday. The club members focused on buying the children coats, shoes and warm clothes for the cold winter season. At the end of the shopping spree, the kids received a hot meal and a visit from Santa.

A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
