Emanuel Cancer Center will be celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day on May 30 with a day-long ice cream social for cancer survivors.
“More people than ever before are surviving the disease as a result of advances in prevention, early detection, treatment and follow-up care,” said Michael Iltis, executive director of Emanuel Cancer Center. “In America alone, there are nearly 14 million people living with a history of cancer, and we want to celebrate that.”
In recognition of the national celebration, Emanuel Cancer Center will host a drop-in ice cream social for cancer survivors and their support persons from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 30.
“If you or a coworker has survived cancer—even for one day or one month—I invite you to bring a friend and enjoy free ice cream, a gift, and live Dixieland music,” Iltis said. “There’s no need to RSVP, just mark your calendar and come by at your convenience to join this celebration of life.”
Emanuel Cancer Center is located at 880 E. Tuolumne Rd., in Turlock.
