A collision between two vehicles in the outskirts of Turlock killed an 87-year-old woman Saturday.

The deceased was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as Marry Rasmussen of Turlock.

The collision was reported to the California Highway Patrol shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday.

Rasmussen was driving a 1997 Oldsmobile northbound on Mountain View Road, approaching the Keyes Road intersection at an estimated speed of 30 to 45 mph.

According to the CHP, Rasmussen failed to stop at the posted sign and proceeded into the intersection, where she drove into the path of a 1999 Dodge Ram.

The Dodge was being driven by Emanuel Sousa, 34, of Hilmar. He was driving eastbound on Keyes Road at about 55 mph, according to the CHP.

The Dodge struck the Oldsmobile on the driver’s side and Rasmussen was pinned in the vehicle.

Rasmussen was extricated from the vehicle, but died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Sousa was not injured in the collision.
