A Turlock man killed in a solo vehicle collision on a rural road between Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties has been positively identified.

The deceased was identified as Patrick Marques, 32, of Turlock.

Marques was driving a 2023 Toyota sedan eastbound on Howard Road, nearing the intersection of Stark Road around 6 p.m. Thursday.

For an unknown reason, Marques lost control of the Toyota and it overturned multiple times, according to the CHP.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries at the scene. It’s unknown at this time if he was wearing a seat belt or not.

The investigation is ongoing and the CHP has not determined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
